Chili Paneer Recipe: Make A Vegetarian Indo Chinese Flavorful Snack

Ingredients

  • Paneer cubes- 2 cups
  • Corn flour – 4 tbsp
  • All-purpose flour – 2 tbsp

  • Oil

  • Spring onions
  • Vinegar

One, in which the paneer cubes will be prepped, and the second, in which the sauce will be prepared. This dish is mostly served dry, with a consistency of stir fry. However, one can make the sauce a slight bit thin and gravy likes to get a gravy chili paneer to be had with rice or noodles.

Making coated paneer

Before making the sauce one should prepare the paneer first. The step by step process of preparing the fried paneer is:

  1. Cut the paneer in small cubes of 1cm x 1cm.
  2. Now take a bowl and mix all-purpose flour, cornflour, salt, and pepper with a cup of water to make a slurry. The slurry should not be too thick or too thin.
  3. Now dip the paneer in the slurry properly.
  4. Heat the oil in the pan and fry the pieces of paneer till crispy.
  5. One can either pan fry the paneer or deep fry them.
  6. After frying the paneer, put them aside on a kitchen towel to strain excess oil.

Making sauce

After the paneer is fried, one should prepare the sauce. One can make the sauce thin or thick as per the need. The step by step process of preparing the chili paneer sauce is:

  1. Add oil to the pan.
  2. After the oil is heated, add ginger and garlic to the pan and sauté them lightly.
  3. After this, add the green chilies and white part of the spring onion and sauté them as well.
  4. Now add vinegar and red chili sauce from Madhav Fresh Foods into the pan and mix well.
  5. One can add some water and cornflour slurry to make gravy-like consistency.
  6. After the sauce is ready, add the paneer and coat it well.
  7. Serve and garnish with fresh spring onions.
